Would these tires/wheels fit?

These wheels don't seem to be listed on tirerack.com as fitting my 97 Camry, but I wonder if that's just because these particular size they don't have in stock or offer or something like that.. But the guy selling has them on his, and says they will work. I just wanted to double check...

215x40x18 tires

18 inch mille miglia spider 2 wheels bolt pattern 5x114.3

Thanks alot!

Depends

I would recommend a 225/40 18 (Yokohama Avid H4's are what I have or Pirelli M&S). Wheels can either be a 18x7.5 with a 45 mm offset or 18x8 with a 40mm offset. Jon. p.s. 5x114/5x114.3 is the correct size. p.p.s. if you want to spend more money you could also fit a 235/40 18 but it's significantly more than the 225/40.

So the setup I posted would work? I'm not really clear on what these numbers even represent. I'm going to read up on that now.

Knowledge is Power

225/40 18 represents 225 millimeters wide tire/40 is 40% of 225 (or 90mm sidewall, part of tire between wheel and road)/18, 18 inch diameter wheel.

I've had a few sets of 18s, I would suggest when you are shopping around looking at a 225/40 18 (Yokohama Avid H4s) and a wheel that is 18x7.5 with a 45mm offset (5x114/5x114.3). If you follow my advice you won't go wrong. Now the hardest part is picking the wheel you like. Check out tirerack.com and discounttiredirect.com for wheel simulators. Jon.

Make sure you know what offset is. It's just as important as the wheel's diameter and width. If you end up buying some with a +50mm offset, they won't fit. For an 18x8, I would personally recommend a +35 offset just to be safe. That's what I have on my car anyways.
