Rear Lower Control Rods?

Is anyone familiar with the rear suspension lower control rods on a generation 4 (1998)? I'm talking about the 2 rods in the rear that run laterally on each side in the rear. They are perpindicular to the wheel and tire combination. There are 2 on each side that are bolted together with long sleeves and bolts and have rubber bushings to cushion them. It's the rear one on each side, the one with the adjustment sleeve for the rear alignment, that I have a question about. I think Toyota calls this rear rod #2, but I'm not certain of that. With the rear raised off the ground I can grab hold of the each of the back rods of the set of 2 and rotate them till I have metal to metal contact within it's bracket. I can do this to the rear one on each side. The front one on each side is firm. There is no up and down or side to side movement at all, just rotational movement. That brings me to my questions.

1. Is this rotational movement considered normal?
2. Has anyone replaced the rubber bushings from these rods? If so, where did you get the bushings? The dealer doesn't carry them.

Thanks for any help here.

Mike

Mike I am pretty sure it is normal. WHen I was working at the dealer we did alignments all the time and all gen camrys were like that. I believe it is due to the fact that the alignment adjustments are made there.
