Your probably gonna pity my dumbarse after reading this.
Well I was cleaning my throttle body today with some STP Throttle Body cleaner, and while I opened the butterfly plate by pressing down on the TB cable, the damn straw on the end flew off and into my manifold and fell into one of the pipes leading downwards...
My question: How hard is it to take the manifold off and how do you do it? I unfortunately had to drive my car afterwards to get to work...bad idea I know...but I couldn't risk getting fired...
Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys.

I wouldn't worry about it. The engine would eat that thing with no problems. If it's still there, I would get long forceps and try to grab it. Can you see it, or are you guessing that it is still there.
I do remember a guy who had this happen, and it just dissappeared in the engine, with no ill effects.

i saw it in there, then tried to get it out, thats when the SOB fell in further...
Is there any way you could shine a light down there? If so, take a dowel (1/4") and put some gum or other sticky stuff on there, and try and prod around and stick it. GL.

Good Idea but I would just let it go like the other person said.. Sticking more stuff down there is taking a huge risk for something else to fall in which can lead to more problems..

good idea.. but how about that gray tape, that stuff is alot sticker then gum. tryto put it on a coat hanger.
Don't feel bad. I had the same thing happen about 7 years ago. I was able to reach it with a long needle nose pliers. In your case, how about trying a shopvac with a long extension on it? Just a thought. Good luck.
That vacuum idea is a pretty good one. Maybe attach the vacuum hose to a piece of fuel line tubing using duct tape or what have you. And snake the tubing down the throttle body hole and go fishing until you can pull it up.
After I lost my straw in the intake plenum, I found this item at a car show and have never been without one. They get brittle and break after a year or 2, so I buy a few of them to keep on hand when I see them. Check out this link:
