1st C/F hood ever for the gen.2 Camry....

Well, hopefully after all is said I done, I'll be remembered as a pioneer for all gen. 2 owners out there who have aspirations to modify one of these things. Here is the first carbon fiber hood ever made for a 87-91 Camry. This is the first prototype of the hood made by MBAutosport in Whittier, CA. The final production hoods will be made as soon as I finalize the corrections that have to be made, etc. As of now, only 5 hoods will be produced and all 5 have been taken. If you are really dead set interested on buying one, I will find out how much it will cost and if they intend on making anymore hoods available to the public. The original deal was set up by me and a buddy of mine and actual creation of the hood took close to 4 months.

Hope you like it....it's no Wal-Mart job like some other kid said about my headlights...

Could you possibly check up on their willingness to do this and post an approximate price? Rather than having a bunch (what, maybe 5-10? ) email you individually? I may be interested, but I haven't decided whether my money should first be spent on the enigine or on looks...

-Charlie

edit: One more thing - Congratulations on getting it done. The hood looks really nice.

If you're referring to the Camry from cardomain, I don't wanna hate, but I'll believe it when I see it upclose. From the pics that he had, his car was pretty distant and you couldn't tell if the hood was real carbon fiber, or painted black. If it is carbon fiber, I give him all the credit in the world. If not, oh well.

As for the whole license plate question, yeah I drive without a front plate daily. I've been pulled over for it before. I just drive carefully and my car is darker than most so it's not really noticeable from far away.

Once again you never cease to amaze me sticky. You going to be in that show in palmdale on the 23rd? I want to see this thing in person. Hopefully my engine will be back together and I'll see if I can impress the 2nd gen master
