There is no regular interval for changing the shocks/struts, some may last only a
year and some may last as much as 10+years, all depends on the roads conditions
and your driving style
Usually recommended at 100k, but it obviously depends on conditions and other factors. You can get a mechanic to take a look at it and show you the type of condition it is in, but most likely they'll convince you to replace it.

but some can last more some can last less.... me in jacksonville... i changed them at 110 and when i changed them.. they were still "ok"
but when u push down on ur car and it comes up.. and when it goes down again, push down again.. now watch how it dampens out. if it keeps going up and down and up and down. u have a problem. if not, ur ok.
but yeah, there's no such thing as "WHEN" to change them. all depends on how you drive the car and the condition of the road that you are driving on. check them, you might see some leaking on the struts, if u do its time to change them...
If you do decide to change them and want to stay with OEM-style equipment, try the KYB GR2's. I have them on my 97 camry and it feels the same if not better than the stock struts by a little.
KYB or Tokico?
Tokicos blues are more of a performance strut, they are slightly stiffer than KYBs and were engineered to be used with lowering springs moreso than with the stock springs. Not saying that you can't run tokicos w/ stock springs but alot of ppl on TN have Tokicos w/ lowering springs. Its a preference.
Well KYBs are "OE style" but are considered a performance strut, they are stiffer and perform better than OEM. They work well w/ stock springs or lowering springs and are more affordable than Tokicos.
They are both quality struts, both known brand names, and widely used. I recommend...both of them, Its your final decision.
