3rd Generation Slight Engine Upgrade Suggestions

Hey all! I've been searching for a few hours now and I haven't found an answer. Maybe I'm searching with the wrong words, but I'm tired so I'll just start a new thread. I've read about so many people turboing and supercharging and I'm interested, but I just don't have the money, expertise, time, etc. to drop either one in my car. On the other hand, my car is starting to show its age... 0-60 could be anywhere between 12-16 seconds without flooring it. I was wondering, what can I put in my car without turbo- or super- charging my car.

Here's a list of potentials:
Intake
Exhaust
...

Also, if you guys don't mind, could you explain a little bit about your answer? Like if it'd take a lot of custom fittings or 6+ hours of work.
I pretty much just want to pick up the hp without turbo or super/c. I don't really want to "race" per say. TIA!!

Here's how things work with cars:

money = speed

Don't want to spend much money or time? Don't expect to get much. You can dump a grand into intake, headers, full exhaust (your typical lazy man mods), and your 0-60 might be quicker by a second at best (and that's being very generous).

And keep in mind a camry is not some k series vtec engine that you can put bolt on's and get decent power. Even with an exhaust, intake, and header (s) system a camry isnt anything to brag about. For the easiest most sufficient way to go fast go with a shot of nitrous

As a rule of thumb, (for me at least) I usually wont put "power" add ons to an engine if its starting to show its age. Like Dark suggested, it takes time and money. Even if you have money to throw at an aged engine, intake and exhaust isnt going to make you or your tired engine happy. If you really like the car, why not put the money towards a rebuild? You cant expect big gains with little effort and money.

Just remove all the shit in your trunk, and shave off a few pounds yourself....

Less things you eat = more money you've saved, so you are going faster AND getting money at the same time

3rd Generation

Hey guys. Thanks for the heads up. Looks like I'll just have to use it for what it is. Hopefully I'll get a decent job in the future and buy a new car. Otherwise I'll need to get some hookups and seriously think about rebuilding it.
Thanks again for all the responses and your honesty!

yea it really is a thing you gotta be serious about..camrys are expensive to fix up but the end result is unrivaled...i have dropped 3200 and my 0-60 has improved by probably 1-1 1/2 seconds at best...
