2nd Generation window problems

Allright so the passenger window in my '88 camry had not been working. The motor was bad so i had it replaced with a used one. It then worked but the drivers side could only roll it down and the drivers side could only roll it up cuz the switches were messed up. So the passenger window stopped again and i couldn't get it up, only down. So i got a new drivers side switch thing and put it on and all the windows work great now except for the passenger side. It won't move at all now. My question is, do i need new switches on the passenger side or does it sound like a problem with the motor?

If it was working from the driver side switch but not its own switch initially I would sure suspect that the wiring inside the passenger side door got messed up. Since the driver switch worked and the passenger switch didn't I would lay odds on the problem being inside the passenger door. Before you buy a new motor, test the old one directly with a hot wire. If the motor works without a switch you can use a multi-guage to test your wiring and switches.

Don't focus only on one door or the other. I would start at the passenger door but if you don't find any problem check back to the driveside door. I currently have a bad wire in my driveside door. When I open the driverside door, neither the driver switch or the passenger switch will operate the passenger window. When the driver door is closed, both switches work. I am pretty confident that it is a wire broken where the driver door hinge is. I just need to take the time to fix it.

Later,
Kep
