Throttlebody tips?

Well the weekend is finally here and I'm planning on working on the car...it's been feeling a bit sluggish so i'm gonna see what I can do. I was going to go ahead and take out the air intake box and throttle body. I need to clean and check the throttlebody... I have the Haynes manual, but I've learned that it's not always as easy as it looks. So I'm looking for any tips.... any help would be appreciated. Thanks

ryan

I was also planning to go ahead and take measurements... i'm looking into a custom intake... maybe modifying a short ram intake into a CAI using that new rs akimoto intake piping or possibly building a cold air box.
Does anyone know where I can get an take with a slight bend instead of the "s" curve ones? I've seen a few of cardomain.... thanks

I guess all you have to remember is label all the vaccuum hoses and electrical connectors. Might as well check all the hoses for cracks and leaks.

just watch not to break the nuts as you unscrew.. mine almost snapped; were that tight.

actually the TB is pretty straighforward. Unbolt, unhose, pull and get busy with the toothbrush and carb cleaner..
