intermittent noise after tb change

Changed my tb,idler pulley, tensioner pulley and drive belts yesterday. Now I have an intermittent knock. Starts up fine, but while its idling it makes a faint knock for a bit then goes away. Then repeats all over again. Any ideas? Car is 94 v6

Maybe your timing belt covers are loose or misaligned?

Well, I just got back from a test drive. Runs fine, no apparent loss of power. This intermittent noise resembles what a rock tumbler might sound like. If I give throttle at idle when the noise occurs, the noise speeds up slightly then goes away. I did notice the ps pump was pretty oily and the pulley seemed to have lots of endplay. Getting that ps belt on/off is a bastard. Hmmm, thinking it might be ps pump. As far as the covers go, the bolts all went in fine. The only problem I had was the ps pivot bolt. I'm not certain it is as tight as the adjuster bolt. The belt is plenty tight. Maybe I got the belt too tight.
