hood deflector (front end mask)

Does anyone have a hood deflector (front end mask) on their GEN5 Camry. If yes, how do you find it? Does it do the job? Does it make the car look ok? Any pics?

no these are plastic, clear with a dark tint. Apparently the bras are bad for your car, they cause more damage than good. They rub against the paint, etc. The area the bra covers will cause the paint to fade less, so when the bra is off, it's going to have an ugly "tan line"

Any way, no it;'s not the bra, it's a tinted plastic deflector.

There is this clear film you can put on your front end that is supposed to protect it. A car place does the 3M film for a price around here.

ive been thinking of getting something like this myself...

they will protect the area they cover, obviously
ive heard they also deflect bugs away from your windscreen too
rocks and debris etc, probably not...

but the problem is, you need to keep the gap between the deflector and your hood clean, because ive seen people with loads of leaves and stuff in there, which may ultimately damage your paint

we dont have tinted ones here, Toyota sells clear ones, so its not too noticeable from a distance

This TN member had a lovely hood deflector on his 05 Camry. I asked him where he got it and he told me from his Toyota dealership. But apparently its just pure luck whether or not your dealer will offer them because I went to 3 Toyota dealerships in my area and all of them told me they haven't sold hood deflectors for Camry's in years.

The guy with the hood deflector also told me that the design for the Gen 5 deflector is slightly different than the one he has for his Gen 5.5. I finally saw somone in my area with the hood deflector on their Gen 5 Cam and luckily it was in the same color as my car and I have to say that I didn't like it at all. It didn't look right. It looks a lot better on Gen 5.5 Camry's. So I am no longer in the market for one of these. But I hope the pics help.
