1. They are gonna start calling me throttle body man cause this is one of the first things i recommend to try, clean the butterfly in the throttle body, and the IAC.
Even if you only remove the air filter tubing and clean the butterfly valve with carb cleaner and rag, this often makes a big difference. The reason is that the butterfly gets crudded up after many miles, from the PCV fumes inside the plenum. So it often sticks or at least is held partly open a fraction. And this affects performance in a big way sometimes, especially at low rpm and idle.
You dont say what kind of engine V6 or 4, but it makes a difference on both. On the 4 the IAC valve is bolted underneath the throttle body, so often benefits from removing the TBI (3 bolts) then unbolt the IAC (idle air control valve) and clean it well with carb cleaner. Its not too hard if you know your way around cars a little bit and you can usually even reuse the gaskets.
2. How long has it been since you changed your fuel filter? newer Camry has the fuel filter in the tank and doesnt ever get changed. Older ones do have a fuel filter and should get changed at the interval. 30,000 or something like that.
3. Weak fuel pump? Although they usually dont deteriorate, they just up and quit so that might not be likely.
