4th Generation Just got my HKS Muffler in the mail today!

I just got my HKS Universal Carbon Ti Muffler in the mail! I am going to use 2.25 stainless steel piping (mandrel bent of course). Taking off the resonator and one of the cats. I am keeping the high flow cat that came with the Ripp Mod's Headers. Does anyone here know if Meineke mandrel bends their pipes? Tell me what you think of the setup on my custum exhaust.

sounds great but you need to have everything installed and make a sound clip and then we can be the judges of your exhaust setup. so hurry up with getting everything on your car...hopefully it will sound good : )

Dunno about the removal of the resonator bit tho =( It might sound a little raspy and rattly. BTW is it a 4 or a 6?

Meineke - they crush bend, and use thin walled crappy tubing.

You will have a hard time finding any muffler shop that mandrel bends, but it will not make any difference on a Camry, there is not enough compression in the engine or resulting exhaust pressure to make a difference.
Find a shop that does performance exhaust work. I prefer shops that are not national chains. The one I use locally (Houston area) uses a very thick-walled tubing, and the guy is very careful/talented in bending it, and there is little "crush" as a result.

Also, I do not think you will find stainless pipe very easily, as it is expensive and difficult to weld, so most shops won't stock it. Good aluminized pipe will last the life of the car.

Its varies since most of them are independently operated & managed. Just call them up.
Why custom stainless steel piping? The only piece you'll see is the slanted bend toward the muffler. Unless your building a show car I wouldn't get SS. IMO.
...What will your new muffler be replacing?

Edit - I just called 3 local meinekes, they all crush bend

well consdiering you onlly need TWO bends for the whole exhaust, just buy some pre bent stainless mandrel. ONEbend if youre going to mount on a massive angle (cannons look shit otherwise)

and yes you car will be FKN LOUD =)

got it done yet?

lol i have a cannon exhaust on my car and it is so loud. you are eventually going to get sick of it. i just purchased the TRD exhaust for my 05 Camry. it cost 500 dollars but i bet it will be a hell of a lot better than what i had b4 which was 2.5 piping and a 3 inch muffler....LOUD AS FUK

my cannon is actually quiet while cruising/idle but loud at WOT, so its all good. its got a 7" body, MUCHO big, lots of room for the sound to die off.

Sorry for sounding like a noob, but what exactly is the benefits of a carbon fiber muffler over the normal steel?

^ nothing really besides the way it looks. usually its just a piece of c.f. molded around a steel or stainless steel muffler anyways.
Original post- did you get your exhaust on yet?
