Hi,

I still have the original sparkplug wires and distributor parts on my 92 2.2 Camry.

Can anyone give some recommendations on what aftermarket pieces I can get to replace them?
I still buy the Toyota original equip platinum plugs from the dealer.

Thanks,
CamryKen

I recently replaced my spark plugs with Denso Iridium plugs. The ones that were in there was OEM - Denso Platinum. As for wires, there isn't much benefit to replacing those with aftermarket unless you want it to look nicer and gain maybe 0.00000001 HP. But check the resistance through the wires to see if they are all consistent or if there is one that is totally out of spec.

I noticed that if you want big boost from ignition you got to change alot of stuff.Like the wires distributor and spark plugs then you might see a 1% increase in power and longer engine life.I got Denso IK20 in my car and i should change them to ik 22 because of my s/c but nthey give me like 5 hp acording to my calculation wich is exeptional.

From my experience, wires are purely cosmetic. New plugs, however, did make the car run smoother. I have Bosch Platinum +4s and (cheap-ass) Sparkco wires. If you have the dough-age and want real gains (placebo effect or not is debatable), lay down about 2 bills US for a set of Magnacors. But seriously, it's not worth the steep dough-age.
