I filled up until it clicked ONCE, rolled for 100kms, filled up again until one click, noted the liters and :
10.776Liters / 100km city driving that makes 21 mpg, check engine is on Code P0446, 264 000 Kms.

I set the trip meter to ZERO when I fill up. Then I drive around town as usual. Next time I need gas, I go to the same gas station, get the same grade gas from the same pump. I record how many miles I went divided by the number of gallons I filled up.
Example: 410 miles/15.2 gal = 26.92 MPG.
I consistently get 26-27 MPG for mixed city/freeway driving. Most od the time, there's 2 or more people in the car.
I think it could be a little better, but I think without spending some $$$, it would be a little difficult to get more MPG from that car.
The 5S-FE engine is a good engine, but the design is old, so I am not expecting major improvements..
Some ideas I have to get a few more miles per gallon:
Header: If Rippmods ever made them, I would be interested in buying one.
Tires: I will need new tires later this year. I hate to compromise grip for rolling resistance, but I will do some more research The Falkens I have now are pretty good. I am leaning towards Goodyear Comforttreads.
I have thought about aerodynamics at one point, but in the Seattle traffic, I don't get going fast enough....Plus, the Camry is already pretty aerodynamic.
Of course, driving habits are a key.

16mpg on very aggressive driving
20mpg on soft old lady like driving
lately, with no resonator, new filter, fuel injector cleaner, wider better compound tires, im looking at 20+ with mildly agressive driving.
I drive a mix of Highway and Local. on the highway i normally do 70, but 90 when i feel like it. also having the V6 is fun on speed, but painful at the pump
I measure buy resetting my TRIP B odometer whenever i fill up, then use till tank empty, and fill again, how ever many gallons i consumed, will reflect my miles per gallon calculation.
Hope that helped.

wow! so detailed! all i do is reset trip meter each time i fill up... different servo's different pumps...
here here Edmo83!
i can get about 650km (fuel light well lit) form about 60 litres 91 octane if highway driving only (roadtrips).
work uni etc "old lady like driving"!! i can get 550km to 60 litres includes city and highway...
and as low as 400km thrashing about speeding everywhere...
21 mpg I fill up my tank all the way, reset the trip odometer , drive around then wait till Im close to empty. Fill up the tank. Divide how many miles by how many gallons I put in. Repeat. I think I need a tune-up. With the gas prices so high I should do one.
I have always used premium gas.

No, in Canada they calculate how many liters by slices of 100km.

I am getting 18 mpg mixed highway/local driving and that is like an "old lady"!
I recently drove from long island to Boston and back in one tank of gas getting 34mpg! So mostly highway I am pulling 500 miles per tank, but once I start driving around the neighborhood I only get about 290 miles per tank. I have tried for the longest time to figure out why the hell this is, but no luck.
I have a 2.4 liter manual transmission 2005 Camry. I get 24 mpg (9.8 liters/100 km) in the city and 34 mpg (6.92 liters/100 km) on the highway. I use the cheapest gas I can find, 87 octane from El Cheapo gas station. The results are consistant because I check my mileage every time I fill up. I could probably get better mileage if I drove slower. I don't drive hard. My maximum speed on the highway is 70 mph. It's quite amazing a car this size getting this good a mileage. With gas prices going up, I'm glad I bought a Camry. The Corolla and Prius would be the mileage king but I need the larger space.
thats weird...i get about 24.Xmpg with my 1mz...and most of the time, im traveling over 80mph to avoid being late to work...and i havent done much if any maintenance in a loooooooooong time...

Im working on that now. RIght now I have driven 130 miles, and used a quarter tank. Its going up as I learn the auto's rpm range per mph and shift points.
