Question Can someone help me?

Hi, I am pretty new here so please forgive me for not using the search option. i was wondering if you guys can help solve my car problem as i am now reading the car owner manual which is not helping that much. The problem is that my 05 Camry Se v6 got a recent oil change and everytime when the oil change was completed this check light comes on. The dealership is kinda being an ass for not helping me when i called in; therefore im trying to solve this problem with the owner manual at the moment but no help.

i went over the steps that where in manual and its still on. can someone please help me

try to find someone you know with an OBD-2 reader or a repair shop advertising free code reads.. to read what code is coming up exactly that will give you a better idea of what the cel is coming on for

go to autozone or pepboys, and they should run the obdII code for free, and then come back and tell us what it said- otherwise, we really can't help you since many different things can set off a CEL, though it could be easier to diagnose since it came on after an oil change

but by the same token, it could be something as simple as a vaccuum leak if a hose was disconnected by accident in the shop

as well- where did you get the oil changed? the dealership? or else-where?

??

Your car is under 3 yr/36,000 bumper to bumper warranty. Take it to the dealer to read the code and fix it. If their being an ass you be a bigger ASS to get it resolved. Jon.

Check engine light and oil change could be related? Unless they mucked up something. Another reason to do it yourself.

Here's what i do for mystery check engine light. Remove the battery cable from the battery for a minute or two. Then replace it. If there's nothing wrong then the engine light will probably go off. And stay off. If it comes back on, THEN have someone pull your codes.

If your dealer did the change take it back to them - drive into their workshop and refuse to move it until they agree to check it out.

Toyota's are great cars, to bad the dealers don't share that quality.
