190,000 km - 1st spark plugs change

I was reading the manual and it says to change the spark plugs after 190,000 km on a GEN5, V6. If this is the case, I'll just bring it to the dealership, as I understand changing spark plugs on a V6 is a pain in the ass. 190,000 km, that's like every 8-9 years before the spark plug is changed, so even if I have to pay them $100 labour, its still worth it.

Well the charge about $100 /hr. and it's about 1 hour labour at the most, even the guys here on this forum has done it in about an hour. I think they quoted me $160 total, parts and labour.

I dont blame you for not wanting to change these plugs. They are not easy but they can be done.

With other's posts on this subject in mind, i prepared beforehand and I got some special tools just for this job. I got a neat 3/8" socket wrench (from harbor freight) for $20, it is called Sidewinder wrench...

Perfect for plug #6 which is under the plenum. This tool paid for itself on this job alone.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep this in mind when it gets close to the spark plug change. In the meantime, I will into the tool you suggested.
