Auto Transmission: Life Expectancy?

What is the typical life expectancy of a Gen2 auto transmission assuming appropriate preventative maintenance?

if you treat it well it should last awhile if you treat it right... mine's at 144k and it's begining to slip from 1st to 2nd but the rest is fine...but from what i've heard it's a common problem

i'm at 168.5k and no problems at all, and nothing out of the ordinary.

Mine lasted about 130k, the torque converter failed

Mine lasted 235k Miles. Haha you should have it forever if you treat it right.

If it shifts fine now and you've been keeping up on the maintenance, it should keep going for a very long time .

I sold my '88 Camry LE at 146k miles and the transmission was shifting just fine.

I have 235K on my 90 with no problems. As far as I know, the fluid has never been changed. At this stage, I am almost afraid to.

My 91 has 100K and I think the torque converter is going.

If differential level was not too low, it may last for long time, however, the seals may leak after 18 years of service.
