Sound System - External Source

My new 07 Camry has an auxillary jack inside the center storage compartment. But in trying to hook up my ipod I was surprised to see only one input there. My ipod connects to my stereo with a Y cable, single end to ipod, double end to left and right channed aux jacks on stereo. What's different here? Do I need a different cable and what? Thanks in advance!

They make a cable with the headphone plug at both ends.

The Y cable you are talking about is a 1/8 miniplug to 2 RCA plugs, you'll need a 1/8 to 1/8 miniplug cable... also known as a regular computer audio cable. if you have as many computer parts and stuff lying around as I do, you might have an extra cable.

yeah you're going to need a normal cable tha thas both male ends. They sell them cheap at a lot of electronics stores like radio shack. Make sure you get the length you desire. Too long isnt always good as it becomes tangled and a mess.
