4th Generation Extremely bad gas milage... Part 2

'97 camry I4 5SFE
152,600 miles

in one of my older posts i was saying how i have no low end power and get 13mpg driving conservatively.

well for the first time i drove around with my a/c off. SO MUCH MORE low end. not to mention i hardly used any gas.

Anyone know what this means?

Oh and if this helps any, i was driving home from school when a flash flood hit and somehow managed to drive through about 3 ft of water. My A/C started blowing warm and the compressor button light started to flash. it worked fine about 5min later so i just left it.

thanks

Go4,

Can't help you on the mileage problem....sorry.

As for the deep water, some water probably got on the A/C belt and caused it to slip for a while. Then it dried off and all was well.
