Exhaust Pipe

I just had a quick question on what option for exhaust is better. Ive seen one driver so far that has just put in a pipe from the engine straight to the back without a muffler to it. I have a 4 cylinder 96 camry and wanted to put a dual exhuast. I was told by one mechanic that the bottom of the car has no room for a dual exhaust on the back so he told me he would have to create one exhaust, trace it back to the front and rap it around to the other side, that sounds a bit too much work and too many pipes under the car, i just want a split down the center to the left and right and im not looking for loudness, just the look and a little more performance from the engine, any suggestions?

with 2 small mufflers or with a large central muffler split and exiting in wherever you want.

getting a large muffler to fit on the left side of teh car will incolve hammering way at your spare wheel well.

u want "very little more performance" u need a larger pipe from engine to the middle of the car. then split it into two smaller pipes that Ys out. and yes u need to hammer ur spare tire well
