4th Generation Need advice on runing power wire for sub

I'm planing to install a sub this weekend, (gen 4.0) but i looked at the firewall and it's all covered with a sound deadening material or w/e it is. Is there a place under it i can fit a wire (4g or 8g)??? I hope i don't have to drill into a firewall, i had to do it on my old car, and it took me pretty long to finish the job with a powerfull drill.
Or maybe it will be good idea to find a shop which i can pay like 50$ to do it for me, all i need is a power wire everything else i can do myself.

Do you guys think 4g or 8g wire will be enough to run 300rms of system power, maybe more in future??

Thnx in advance for any advice

if you plan on upgrading your system in the near future, you should use 4 gauge wire, because it'll be a pain for you to re run a new power wire to the back, but you don't need to drill a whole in the firewall, on the passenger side closer to the strut tower you'll see a rubber gromet that allows all your electrical wires into the car, use this passage way to run your wire if you need any more help let me know, so I can try and put up some photos for ya!!! good luck with it

i drilled through my fire wall...took all but 1 minute with a cordless 12v drill...

I pulled out a piece of already cut out cover for the firewall right by the driver side wheel well area, and once you drill through, you end up below the brake booster by the strut tower and you can run the wire to the battery easily. I thought that required less wire than running it to the passenger.

i then hid all the wire under the door trims by the door sill areas. I mean you basically cannot see the wire at all inside the cabin.

I know this has been covered before many times. Try a search, and you should get some more info. There's a grommet in the firewall on the driver's side. Its hidden by the brake pedal, only higher up on the wall. You'll need to remove the wheel well lining from the outside, and you'll see the hole in the firewall. If you pop the hood, you'll also see on the driver's side wheel well, a hole where wires run into, thats the engine side of the access point. If you can get the wheel well cover off easily, I'd say thats your best bet.

there no need to remove the liner

just look from the inside by the break or threw the engine bay

its clear as day

But to actually run the wire you'll need to remove the panel, unless you run a wire or have awesome aim.
