SmOked tailights

OKay, so i'm ready to smoke my tailightso nmy gen5 camry le. I've been searching for this topic for a bit of time, and am still a bit weary on some techniques.
Purchased:
-VHT nite shades
-Clear coat
-sand paper(wet)

- My problem is that i don't understand the process of applying the vht nite shade.
A.) After sanding, and start to spray the VHT, do i go over the tail lights once and let dry and repeat until desired results OR B.) after sanding, spray coat after coat till ig et what i want?

Light coats..build it up..

If your not a pro..its the safest way to avoid runs.

There is a D.I.Y., step by step that was made on a 350z forum. I'll see if I can find the link.

dude sanding is not required, my buddy did it back in the day on his civic and no sand needed. light, even coats, not heavy.

I already have the link, thanks though. I was just unsure about how to spray each coat. What i mean is that, do i spray one coat of vht, then wait to dry, then apply another coat and so on. Or do I apply one coat, don't wait for the VHT to dry ,and immediately apply another coat until i like the darkness of the tint?

i tinted my tails on my 02 camry, all i did was clean the lens, and sprayed even coats on but dont do more than three coats otherwise the light may not shine through. I taped off the center clear part (turn and reverse lights) and just tinted the red part of the lens, Looks hott. Well good luck,

Hey guys here are some before and after pics of the rav 4 headlights.I just wanted to give this car a newer revamped headlight look. I'm reconsidering if i want to do them darker, becasue they seem to look to light to me.

why go smoke? your lights gonna go blurry, no intensity, especially when you need to brake.

Ill admit mine are darker than i planned, but still happy with the results. Mines as dark red that you can still see the reflection of red with none of the lights on. But when applying the brake light, the light still shines perfectly from being rammed by someone behind you.

Here were pictures without the clear coat. The day after that, I added massive clear coat and love the results. Sorry no updated pictures of that yet.

ill admit using the FILM is the WAY TO GO on smoking taillights. But its fun creating your own realistic smoke, if you can get it the exact color shade. If you want the TRUE look of an aftermarket taillight , then use the film. But I love the look of mine smoked out and dont regret of not using it, but we all rush into things, and im over it.
