rear engine sensor problem

there is a sensor that got unhooked by accident when i was pulling out my tranny, its in the backof the engine and its a yellowish organ sensor, its right over a blue one, and there is a vacume line that comes out of it, if that sensor is unpluged will that cuase my car not to start..

Sounds like the Fuel Pressure Vacuum Switching Valve (FPVSV), and it will allow the car to start IIRC, but it is not ideal have it unplugged as it co-operates with your FP Regualtor.

is that y when i first started it, it ran but when i shut it off it would not start...

no, i gave up after it did not start, bc i did the tranny swap all by myself, so i was a little tired , and didn't really wanna go neer the car. but thats the thing when i looked for the conector that goes to it, it was no where to be found, im sure i was just tired, but either way i was just wondering if that was the problem, bc nothing else was touched engine wise.
