Gen5 Slight Shudder When Coming to a Stop...

I've noticed a slight shudder when coming to a stop. This doesn't happen always, and it only happens if I'm coming to a "normal" stop - meaning not barely touching the pedal, but not stomping on it either. Brakes feel fine and when I got my oil changed they inspected the front discs and rear drums and it checked out okay.

Any ideas what it could be? I can't remember either way if this was happening before they inspected my brakes..

- '05 I4
- 15,750 miles
- Oil changed regularly
- Tires inflated properly, no excessive/weird road noise
- Fluids are clean
- Invoice says: "Brake inspection.. Remove and reinstall four wheels and rear brake drums to inspect brake condition. Inspect entire system for leaks. Brake system ok during inspection."

Thanks

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

Really? It lasts for 3-4 seconds.. I've never experienced this on another car and I've driven plenty.

That sometimes happens to me when I make a stop on gravel or sandy areas.

If that were the case, that would make sense since the ABS would kick in..

I noticed it again today, while going through a McDonald's drive thru. I was already in first gear, rolling along and I could feel the car shaking just a bit while coming to a stop. Ah well - maybe I'll have my cousin drive it and see what he thinks. He's still in the process of getting into auto mech but he's been right on with other things in the past.

Thanks

umm, is it right before your car comes to a stop or is it also while your car is just slowing down in general? im afraid i wouldnt really know what to tell you about automatics though. i used to have that awhile ago, but it was because i had a bump in one of my rear tires and i had to get that replaced.

I don't know if this is possible but can you disconnect the ABS system on a Camry? I understand that you can on most vehicles and it will eliminate the ABS system and return you to "standard" brakes. If you do this and it quits vibrating it would suggest that your ABS system is acting up.

I think I have the same thing too, but I don't have ABS. It only happens once in a while, so I really don't know what circumstances allow for it to happen.
