I was going to buy an FM transmitter for my ipod to use in my 2002 Camry. The salesperson told me that it will not work in newer cars with no antennae. I disagreed, but he said he's 100% sure about this. He said the signal hits the windsheild and goes nowhere . I found it hard to believe and left the store.
Hmm...well AFAIK, your stock radio picks up signals in the FM band just like any other car/radio/stereo/whatever....so if there is a device that is emmitting a low FM band signal, like an IPOD radio adapter, surely it will pick it up. I tend to disagree with the saleperson. New cars are not "sheilded" by RF!

that anternna cable has to run form the anttenna to your head unit somehow... it will work, i made my own one day, sat in car and used it, works fine... and mine was a poxy home made thing...
I believe the antenna on the gen5 is in the rear window. Should be the top few horizontal lines, just above the rear defroster. I don't see any reason why a FM transmitter wouldn't work.
fm transmitter sometimes sound shitty . GET a FM modulator. i think u can use a AUDIOVOX FMV1000 something like that they sell them at circuit city for 50$ and usually charge 25$ to install and u hook it up too the headphone jack and it sounds MUCH better. jus thought i let u know other options. or if there is a uss spec's offers aux inputs for factory radio.
I used the FM transmitter built into my sirius unit and it worked ok but sometimes even weak stations would over power the signal so i got the FM modulator and it worked much much better
so yah spend a little more and get a FM modulator with a on/off switch
