2nd Generation installing oil pressure gauge help

i did search. so i know that i need to convert the 1/8' BSTP to 1/8 NTP.. any idea where to get the BSTP i went to homedepot can't seem to find it. all they have is NTP ones.. and i would like to use the stock one too so i know i have to T it off... how would i go around doing that? and where is the oil pressure on the car..

http://www.powertraincontrolsolution...c1a6f2e6bbcf0c

may be i can use this? and not T it off to the stock one ?

Its BSPT (british standard pipe thread) and NPT (national pipe thread).

If you want a T, you need one with 1/8" male BSPT, 1/8" female BSPT, and 1/8" female NPT.

1. Male bspt end will screw into the cylinder head.

2. Female bspt end is where the stock oil pressure switch screws in.

3. Female npt end is where the sender/sensor from the oil pressure gauge screws in.

The adapter you listed will work. Although you'd lose the stock oil pressure switch.

On a 3S-FE the oil pressure switch is on upper right corner of the cylinder head.

^ The oil pressure switch does not look like that. I have a AN fitting screwed into the hole.

well mine fit really perfectly. like no gaps at all. but i made sure that my radio can flip down or what not. if you look in the thread i posted before, i had to cut into the trim, to make the gauges sit down more.

It shouldn't throw the CEL, but the oil pressure light will be on.

Home Depot does not sell BSPT fittings. All they have is NPT.

Try checking with a place that sells AN fittings or a place that sells hydraulic stuff (hoses, fittings, etc..)

Do you think these parts will do?

1) Stainless steel 1/8npt (F) to 1/8bspt (M) pn: 4092k11
2) stainless steel 1/8bspt (F) to 1/8npt (M) pn: 4092k26
3) Aluminium tee 1/8npt (F) pn: 4705k333

Do you think i need anything else?

why didn't i think of mcmaster.com earlier? they have pretty much EVERYTHING

Won't work. The aluminum T you picked is female. So the NPT end on the 2 other fittings need to be male.

From cylinder head to T:

brass 1/8" NPT male to 1/8" BSPT male (4860K611)

Female T:

brass 1/8" NPT female (50785K75)

From oil pressure switch to T:

stainless steel 1/8" NPT male to 1/8" BSPT female (4092K26)

The sender/sensor that comes with the gauge will just screw into the T since its 1/8" NPT male.

No prob.

Where you went wrong, was with this fitting: Stainless steel 1/8npt (F) to 1/8bspt (M) pn: 4092k11

The BSPT end on that works out, it screws in the cylinder head. However the NPT end is female, so it won't screw into the T which is also female.

You can't screw 2 female threads together (no pun intended).

This fitting is not really necessary: stainless steel 1/8" NPT male to 1/8" BSPT female (4092K26).

1/8" NPT and 1/8" BSPT are really close. One has 27 threads per inch and the other has 28 threads per inch.

So you could wrap teflon tape around the threads on the oil pressure switch and screw it into the T.

Its better to use that fitting as the threads match up exactly, but its up to you.

I can't believe how much that fitting costs though. The price is just as bad as AN fittings and hose ends.
