Ive been looking online for the perfect heatunit, and i really like the panasonic cq-c1333u but crutchfield says it wont fit.... which doesnt make sence since its a 1DIN player and i dont have an amp right now, so why wouldnt it?
its a 1997 toyota camry le... with a single din radio/cassette
I thought all i'd need is a harness

just get that radio, and keep the brackets on the pocket when u remove it and it should work enjoy and u need a harness which i think crutchfield gives for free if u buy a radio.

Crutchfield is right. A heatunit won't fit in there, but a head unit will. JK Seriously, it should work. I used to have a 98 LE with a Panasonic CD/MP3 player. You don't even need a mounting kit, it fits perfectly. Wiring was not a problem either. Call up the Crutchfield salesperson and ask why.
The problem you may run into, that they may be talking about is the depth of the radio
It might be to deep for the opening, i believe thats why they say it won't fit
if there is this plastic thing around face plate you can't remove, it wount go in inside completely, or u have to cut this plastic thing a bit around deck. I belive that's what they talking about.
ok it works DONT WORRY about it GO TO BEST BUY and as for sure or Circuit CITY and tell them what parts u would need and they offer free install for anthing 99$ and above just pay for parts and CIrcuit City sells panasonic
I was gonna install one of those HD bases generic MP3 players below my head unit. I found out that the MP3 unit would have been to long and would not have fit. I see no reason why a head unit would not fit inless it has a HD and or tray in it.
On a side note.....you you all think it would be wierd if the head unit was on the bottom and the storage compartment was above? I do not change CDs very often since I play mp3s off them.
