3rd Generation power window problems

have anyone have had any problems with the power window? My car is acting funny with the windows. When i press the down button forthe passenger window from my driver's side, it works, but when i pull up, the windpow doesn't respond. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Have anyone have had this problem?

I added a new window regulator for the passenger, but it still is acting funny.

Have any solutions? i hate parking my car in the parking lot with a black trash bag covering the window on my passenger side. poo poo!!

I think that the gen 3 is known for window problems. Don't quote me on that though.

sounds like you need a new master switch, OR it may just need a cleaning due to corrosion or other- take it apart first and take a look

if it doesn't seem fixable, then get a new one for cheap off of ebay

and the gen3 windows all SEEM to have problems, because now is about the time that things started to act up- i.e. switches, regulators, tracks, etc.

I had somewhat similar problem a year ago. The Windows would go down with no problems, however when I try to close it, it would go up couple inches and then I had to wait for a minute before it goes up another inch. It used to take me 15 minutes to fully close the window.
The solution was to change the window regulator. I got mine from eBay for $75.
Good luck.

3rd Generation

If the passenger window will go up/down with the passenger switch then it is then it is not the regulator or passenger switch. If the driver master switch is erractic on up or down then it is either the master switch or a wire to the switch.

I have had to replace the master switch to fix one car and replace a shorted wire (to this switch) to fix another. Used master switchs are always on ebay, but you could end up with some else junk.

ill sell you both front switches (with the clips and plugs&wires just in case) for 40 bucks shipped. they have the stick on wood trim on them, but it can easily be taken off.
