Can someone explain

How on eBay they sell rims that will "fit" all of the following : Camry Avalon Solara ES300 ?

Am I wrong in thinking the Camry and Avy are FWD and the ES300 is RWD?

They probably just mean that the bolt pattern and bolt circle diameter are the same, with no regard to offset.

Edit: also, isnt the ES300 front drive?

So taking a RWD rim and putting it on a FWD car would not work? Even if all the offsets and patterns lined up?

No, there is no distinguishing factors between a rear-drive and front-drive wheels, all other constraints being the same (offset, bolt pattern).

I would think that the ES300 and the Camry both have FWD since the ES300 is just a "luxury Camry". lol.

Hmmm...my thought is if the ES300 rim will fit on a Gen3 Camry, that opens up the field oh say eBay style for what rims I could get. That is my reasoning behind all the questions.

There are more options that you can count when it comes to wheels. Don't limit yourself to the ones that specifically say it's designed for a Camry. Find out the correct bolt pattern for your wheels (5x114.3 I assume), find out the offsets which will fit with your gen Camry, and find out the centerbore on the OE rims. You'll want to find a pair of aftermarket wheels with the same centerbore, or get hubcentric rings to act as adapters. Pick a whele diameter that you can afford to wrap with properly-sized tires.

Yea, as far as rims I am as cheap of a buyer as they come. THAT is another reason I was wanting to know this info. If I know I can fit a ES300 rim on the Gen3, then I know I can fit a cheap knock off ES300 rim on my Gen3. Jus my line of thought I guess.

Just use this thread as a guide an you can't go wrong. Don't look at what cars a rim fits, look at the actual measurements.

ES300 is FWD. All the cars you listed share the same bolt pattern/offset etc.

I am not sure, but somewhere along the lines I could have sworn that I heard/learned that FWD and RWD rims were made differently. Like when you look at my Explorer rims and my Carmy rims, they seam to set differently on the hub.

So does that open up the possibilty of putting a rim on the Carmy's with a lip to it, like you see on RWD cars?
