A while back my car threw the code for the Throttle Position Senor. It reset itself the next day but I still went to run the code at Autozone to see what it was. What are some signs of a bad sensor? The only thing different I've noticed it sometimes in second gear I'll push down on the gas and the rpms will go up while the car is accelerating but the rpms go up faster than the car is accelerating. Make sense? Some advice? 88LE, etc? Thanks Jon.

rpms increasing without vehicle's speed increasing is usually a sign of a slipping clutch in a manual trans and a worn clutch pack in an auto trans. a bad tps will give you a fluctuating idle in neutral and could lead to some surging when driving. you can adjust the tps. when do the rpms increase? what speed, what gear?

Sounds more like a tranny/clutch problem than a TPS. You should be a ble to check the TPS with a voltmeter.
