3rd Generation A Little Help Here Please. Major Suspension Problem. Any Advice? Any Suggestions? ? ?

hey what's up? does anyone have ANY idea to what my car's problem may be? it has to do with my front suspension.

i own a '95 camry le, its a 4 door, 4 cylinder. i had the car dropped for about 4 years now, but i could NEVER find out what the problem was.

i been through couple different brand of springs. i currently have SPRINT springs. with a set of tokico blues (shocks). the springs dropped my car 1.8'' front and rear. they were professionally installed at a high performance motorsports place.

now,the problem....

the springs i have on now are just about half a year old or so. i have 17 inch rims with 215/45/17 tires.

and it just so happens that everytime i'm on the road, and there's a slight change on the pavement, as in a SMALL bump or tiny tiny dip (especially on the freeway). my car seems to BOTTOM OUT just on the front right-hand side.

i know its not my springs. i had them checked, and they even showed it to me while my car was on a lift kit at the shop. they said it couldn't be the springs cause they're not compressed to a point where i need different springs.

i'm not sure if its anything else. the mechanic said that it could be the frame of the car itself. since its "really low." he took the measuring tape and said that the body of the car was only about 5 inches off the ground. (the body frame under the engine) "so maybe that could be it."

i still think that there's something wrong with my suspension though. cause everytime i angle into a driveway or whatever. i tend to hear a "thump" from time to time by the axle area on the right hand side. and i'm not sure what it is.

here are some springs that i've tried and wasn't satisfied...
- eibach (wasn't low enough)
- springtech (wore out after a year)
- sprint (i have on now, sucks at cornering. also bouncy)

i haven't tried any complete coilover kits yet. they're pretty pricey. but i was planning to try some Tenzo-R springs. from what i did my research on. its one of the stiffest springs out that that that make for most cars. which i actually want. the stiffer, the better. it might be able to reduce the bottoming out. but the bad thing is...the drop is 2 whole inches, and my car is already low, as is at 1.8 inches.

does anyone have any feedback on these items? (for my car)
---> all these can be found on eBay.

- zenn springs?
- dropzone springs?
- D2 coilovers?
- Vogtland springs?
- VIS coilovers?
- G4 racing coilovers?

so if you have ANY IDEA, SUGGESTIONS, ADVICE, please let me know. it would be really helpful. i hate driving day to day always having to avoid little changes on the road. my cousin has a 98 civic, dropped low as hell. just as low as mine, probably even lower. but NEVER BOTTOMS OUT. so please. feel free to email me at ..... youre looking at the wrog thing. your shocks handle the dampdneing when going over bumps. yor sprigs set your ride height.

you may have a worn strut top (common problem) or just a blown shock, if the shock is blown it should be quite easy to notice how crap the car handles.

OEM shocks arent for use in lowered applications, even quality oe replacments suck as the kyb gr2's arent rated for anything lower then 1" lowered height.

the constanly pressure on the shock valves from being always compressed wear them out very fast.

215/50-17 ^ these are probably the tires you should have on it, the thicker sidewall will probably help some. check if anything on the front of the car could hit the ground easily, check suspension travel for binding, but id definately reccomend getting the correct sized tires, your speedo is prolly reading wrong....wow, well good luck!

actaully his current tyres are more correct i think, the 4 bangers have a smaller rolling diameter compared to the v6.

3rd Generation

Worse come to worse, you might want to check on how the whole installation fits. I had that problem with the tokicos and eibachs. The overall fitment of the strut at the strut mount was a little loose, which caused that strut to perform poorly, and make a very annoying sound when I would go over imperfections on the road. Just a thought.
