i just started applying dynamat extreme to my car and i was wondering... is it ok to apply it to all regular places? a friend said that you should only use original dynamat on places like the trunk lid and roof and put extreme on the floor and trunk bottom. your thoughts?

Switch around what your friend said and you'll be fine. Xtreme is extremely sticky so when you put it on the roof or trunk lid, it won't fall off later... where with dynamat original, they tend to fall off the lid or roof when summer comes around. Now... how embarrassing would that be?
Now if you had the money, Xtreme all around would be the way to go just because it's lighter, doesn't smell like tar, and it does a much much better job at keeping sound out, and also keeping sound in, than original does.

Did you buy a shop roll?

How many sq. ft. did you get for $114?

I think the Dynamat Extreme is around $7 - $8 sq.ft. The normal stuff (Dynamat Original) is around $4 - $5 sq. ft.

Oh yeah, forgot to say...
36sqft will cover about 4 doors. That's about it. You need a lot to cover the whole car...

Its a big roll. They normally come in 5 sq. ft. (little roll). The 36 sq. ft. roll that you got is a shop roll.
