Taking out Camry back seat??

Hey guys, I am going to be putting on my struts, springs, and rotors this weekend and i wanted to know if anyone had the webpage to the step by step process in taking out the back seat. This was posted a while back by someone, but i didnt save it and could not find it. It was on imagestation.com, so if anyone knows the page please let me know. Thanks

I never owned a Gen3, but if it's anything like the others I had, either look for clips under the bench and pull them out, then lift the bench out... or just give it a good tug.

was prolly me
check out my page.
there should be three clips on the front of the seat (front = towards the front of the car)
you just tug up on em if i can recall. you may have to push back on them some to wiggle them out. after that, the seat just comes out. just be careful that everything lines up when you are putting it back in.

after you take out the back seat, fold down the seat backs.

to get to the rear strut towers, alls you have to do is take off the two side cushion things. there are two 12mm (i think) bolts, one for each cushion. mine were little bitches and were good and tight, so just keep at it, they will come out. from there, take off the cushion things.

you can safely sit on your seatbacks (mine were fine) but if you want, you can unbolt them, i didnt see a need.

after the cushions, there are two pieces of hard carpeting shite, one on either side of the hole you should be looking at leading into your trunk. to get them off, you just pull. there are two clips on each one. if you take a flashlight and bend the lip of each one up a little, you can just see where they are, and maybe wedge a screwdriver in there to help pry the clips off.

after this, you have to take the rear deck assembly off. there are two screws, right up front, phillips, i believe. screw them off and set them aside. now, with my car, i had to take that little brake light off to get the rear deck off. all i did was take off the plastic thing that goes around the light, then there are two philips screws and two bolts. remove them, and unclip the light assembly. if you use common sense, you can get this off quite easily. after the brake light is off, just pull on the rear deck towards the front of the car. there are like 6 clips holding it in place. just pull

now you can access the rear strut towers. there isnt much on the rear deck to confuse them with, so i think you should be OK. just unbolt the 3 bolts on each assembly.

as a side note, when you take out the actual strut assembly, to get to the top nut, there is a plastic cap covering it, just take it off.

sorry, i got off on a rant, but if you need any other help with your suspension, gimmie a holler, i lowered my car myself too.

peace,

CSJL
