Tokico shocks/19" rims

Do all tokico shocks have that "lip" at the top? right now I have 18" rims with 225/40 tires and that lip on the front shocks is about 3/4 of an inch above the tires...I wanted to put 19" rims with 235/35 tires on my ride but that "lip" thingy is blocking. Any way the shocks can be adjusted?

Thanks

I'm not sure on the lip, but I wouldn't go any bigger than 18 inch wheels personally, I have read in numerous magazines that this is the max size where the increase in stiffness doesn't get outweighed by the acceleration and unsprung weight penalties.

That lip is the seat for the spring. If you want to go with 19" rims then your tires should be thinner so that the overall size of the tire doesn't change from the 18" setup. Check out this site and play around with the number to see what tire you will need on your 19's to get the same size as your 18's.

By the way, the comfort level of your ride will go down as the tire gets thinner and thinner.

yea ur right that lip is the seating for the springs...oh well...Its just that I got a good deal on these 19" giovanni kobe rims all 4 with low pro tires for $500 from a friend...like new condition....I guess I'll just lower my ride 1.8" instead of getting bigger rims.
