Gen5 exhaust pipe low...why?

does anyone know why the exhaust pipe on the GEN5 is so low to the ground. When my friend saw my car for the first time, he thought there was something wrong. Then we checked all other GEN5's and it's the same. Really low to the ground.

Does anyone know why?

i have noticed that but i got under my car yesterday when it was on the rack and in the middle of the car where the bend is there is a bar extending across where the pipe should be located and that is why there is a bend and i'm not sure why it's there

I was jus doign a search on this to find out if I was the only one with this issue. I just ordered my Ksport 2" drop springs but am worried about putting them on due to this very same issue. I noticed it even more AFTER I got a universal car put in. My next step is going to see if I can get that damn pipe to sit up a lil closer to the underbody without hurting anything. Any sugestions?

I'm dropped on Teins, and I've never scraped the pipe. Don't worry about it.

The only reason that I can think of them making it so low is to reduce noise??? Would that be a possibility? I really can't think of another reason.

yeah, i was very worried about that in the beginning when I had the car and thought it'd scrape like crazy when lowered, but it never scrapes even w/ s-techs. No idea why it's designed like that.

didn't they change the "low exhaust" in the later models?
