so r the camry's from australia different from the ones made in the states? If i order the headlamp from australia, do u think it will fit on my camry.
yes the australian ones are different. it might fit it might not. if you have money to burn order and try. I sure want to know if these will work.. oh wait i have a gen 3 but it still would be good to try.
to make it fit u goin to need the fenders, front bumper grill , and of course the headlights.. basically the front end of the car.. that is called the sportivo model... if u want somethin like that.. why not just save up and do the ES300 99-00 upgrade.. it will be better and easier to get teh parts.. oh and did i mention the ES in those years have HID option hehehehe good luck man...
Actually the only difference between the US and Aussie Models is the side body panels and the emission controls, otherwise than that it is all the same.
The headlamps on that '99 are now used on the '00-'01 US models before they went with the new gen of Camrys.
The body kit in the picture is the much failed TRD USA body kit.
Now if you go with the Japanese versions, be careful reason being is Camry is translated in english is "Crown" which in Japan they produce both a car called "Crown" and the "Camry".
The "Crown" is more like the Avalon is body style, but is not the Avalon.
All Camrys of the same Gen can interchange parts freely with a few exceptions. An example of that is if you take the headlamps of the '97-'99 and the '00-'01 Camry or even the taillights you will need to modify them and the body to fit it.
The '00-'01 Camry headlamps are slightly bigger to accomadate the two bulb sockets one for low beams and one for high beams with that said the front turn signals is also the same way the '97-'99 are different from the '00-'01.
Also the grill is slightly different but you can sap them with very few mods.
actually .. the crown is a much bigger car using a different chasis... basically the crown is in the range of the LS lexus... in size.... as for them making a camry ... i think they call the gen 4 gracia or something...
the camry race car in the background of that link is a supertouring
race car by rod millen
I'm not sure if he used that in british or australian
supertouring championships though...
Just a question...Don't Australians drive on the wrong side of the road (compared to Americans)? If so, won't the headlight conversion blind the p*ss out of people here in the States because they're angled the wrong way? Or am I just blowing smoke up my own a** again?
you can angle the headlights any which way you want...you could probably blind the crap out of people here if you wanted to (actually I used to do that when I had my Firebird....good times)
