So, my wife and I ordered a Camry a few weeks ago.
It came in to the dealer on Tuesday and we were going to pick up today (Thursday).
Well, we had a hail-storm yesterday and it got the car... looks like about 4 small dents on the trunk, 6 or 7 on the top and 2 larger ones on the hood.
So... not sure what to do.
The dealer says their going to all be repaired using a paintless dent repair and we can pick up Friday.
Assuming they are al repaired and all are like new, do I demand a discount? Do I demand an extended BtB warranty?
If you haven't signed the papers for it yet, i would see if they can locate another one for you. With dent removal system it will put stress on the paint, and it may show signs of wear faster than a car that has not gone through that process. You are paying for a new car and I feel it needs to be new, and not damaged/fixed. I remember when the hurricanes were going on down here in FL, they heavily discounted vehicles after the storms. If you need the car now, i would definatley demand a discount plus warranty on the body work that needs to be done. Good luck with everything!

JenNoelle has it absolutely correct. You are paying for a brand new car, not one that already has had paintless dent repair (known in the industry as PDR) performed on it. About 12 years ago Toyota corporate published a bulletin to it's dealers advising against PDR. That bulletin (sorry I can't find it now) mentioned that PDR causes minute cracks in the underside of the paint that could promote corrosion in the long run. I don't know if their policy is still the same. Both of our Camrys were damaged by hail about 2-1/2 years ago. A Toyota dealer's bodyshop gave me a copy of the bulletin. Both hoods and trunks were replaced by a body shop who also filled and repaired the other dings and repainted both entire cars for the money my insurance company allowed. I opted for this rather than have the PDR done on both of my cars. In your case, I would however, demand another new car from the dealership. Let them deal with the problem of disposing of this car. You payed for and should expect a new, undamaged car, that's long term health is not in question.
YOU don't need to suffer because THEY damaged the car they were trying to sell you.
Keep it on a NO WAY IN HELL basis, and be prepared to walk out of there if they won't satisfy you. Let them know in no uncertain terms that if they don't satisfy you (and I can't comprehend how ANYONE would be satisfied with a damaged-and-repaired "new" car), you'll go find some other dealer to do business with now, and in the future.
Have them find or get you another car.. No matter how "good" the paintless dent people are you are still going to have some minor imperfections and the paint will be stressed... Its up to you but I would not buy that car...
I have to re-iterate what everyone else says. DO NOT ACCEPT THAT CAR. Just like any delivery, you have the right to refuse delivery if the goods were damaged en-route. They still want your money and should be more than happy to get you another one and sell that at a discount as-is or Toyota should have some process for them to return the car to the factory. But if you paid full price for a new car, then don't accept this one.
if you haven't signed anything, demand another vehicle. it's woth the wait if you have to.
Make sure you write down the VIN # of the damaged car. Who knows, maybe another car with the same colour and trim will magically appear at your dealer's lot with not dents, and you could've sworn it is the same car, but no proof!
Everybody has given you good advice its a tough choice cause you both want the car now. And not some runaround for 2 weeks or longer for a new one.
If you really wanna take it now maybe you can request (demand) some kind of paint warranty if such a thing is available.
Because of course the dealer wants you to take the car now. And will promise you anything to do that. But if this paint has problems later, after they have all your money, it will be very probably be a different story with this dealership.
But a brand new car with hail damaged, even repaired hail damage - I think i would wait for a new one especially if you have something else to drive!
