Theres another alternative, its a used Japanese engine. They are fairly cheap esp if you do it yourself. But caveat emptor if you opt to go with one of these. Do not buy a used Japanese engine sight unseen! Examine it carefully first, make sure all your old parts will fit, that the intake and exhaust ports match and that this engine is an exact match for yours.
Many japanese engines are just a little different than the ones made for US bound cars. And replacing the stuff that doesnt interchange (like your manifolds and oil pan, etc.) can make the cost prohibitive i.e. not worth doing.
