3rd Generation Automatic Headlight Conversion

I have a Gen3.5 1995 Camry LE and am annoyed with having to turn on the headlights manually when it gets too dark. I've always ridden in cars with automatic headlights in the past and don't see the reason that I should turn mine on manually unless I have to. Is there any way to mod the lights to turn on automatically? Do I have to swap parts from a car that has automatic headlights? Which would be the cheaper alternative?

wow, i know this isn't helpful but i hate having automatic headlights. I wish to God that i would find a way to not have automatic headlights or daytime running lights. i want to be able to black all out when necessary at night (like coming home down my street late at night, trying to sneak up on the car thieves or vandals.)

I would imagine you could splice any sort of switch into the headlight circuit if you wanted. Or you could cut the engine and glide in next to them :-P

DRL can be easily disabled by pulling out the ground. and for the automatic headlights thing it's gonna be a hard task. Your gonna have to take a sensor and everything and tap into the headlight system. Not a very very hard Mod. Just wiring the thing and finding a place for the sensor is hard.

DEI makes one that you can add to an alarm system.

Part # 545T

And I agree, you must be pretty darn lazy to hate flipping a switch.

If you have HID Dont get automatic headlight sensors. When you go into a dark tunnel or something and come out your HID will burn out over time. your not suppose to turn you HID on and off frequently.thats why soo many New Benz have burned out HID. I learned the hard way on my benz...................
