3rd gen window problem

My dad just called me and told me his 94 XLE rear driver side window just stoped working. He rolled it down today and it doesn't roll up anymore. Its stuck down.

This is what i got him to test and stuff. From the switch on the driver's door it doesn't work. Same for the rear switch. He swaped switches out and no luck. He tells me he doesn't hear the motor try to move.

I'm thinking the regulator just gave up. But not sure, how much is a regulator.

I am having the same freaking prob today. One of the pins broke and the came came loose. Before buying a regulator.

1) check to make sure that the plugs are connected.
might be a simple thing as the wires/pplugs came off.

2) Might be the switch that is dead. Get an volt meter to test that.

3) If the regulator is dead, don;t get an after market replacement from Korea or some city in Pakistan.
I bought that from ebay and i regret that big time. Sometimes, the regulator would work, sometimes, it decides not to. I ahve to give it a 30 seconds rest before trying and it would work for another 2 inch in winding the window up...

I am going to the junk yard tomorrow to get one from a salvage toyota..

p.s. i bought it off ebay for $50++

I think it cost about $90-120 at the dealership

no junk yard by me that i know with a 3rd gen anyways.

I think i'll go aftermarket as they are 30$ just about shipped, mainly becauses my dad rarely uses the window. Its just he drove some friends home and they got hot.
