yep, i guess its my turn... I was driving to my girlfriends place near detroit yesterday and was on a three lane road where the speed limit is 45. I was just cruisin about 45 if not a little under, about 15 car lengths atleast from the trail blazer in front of me. She slammed on the brakes out of nowhere and only had one tail light working, so I reacted as fast as i could but knew i couldnt stop in time. My front tires locked up (because it was pouring rain) and i slammed square into her trailer hitch. not a single mark on her car, punched in the bumper on mine.

We didnt call the cops or anything since she didnt have damage and I only have PLPD so it doesnt really matter. I told her to fix her tail light and she didnt really say anything, some soccer mom. anyway here are the pics:

Im not sure what to do with my car now... this car is my only hobby, I love modifying it but everything has been going wrong lately and im just not sure putting more money into it is the best idea. You guys are the only ones that understand I cant just leave it like this and how attatched I am to my car, no one else gets it. Here are my options:

1. leave it and be embarassed about my car looking like rice
2. throw a new stock bumper on it
3. get a 95-96 bumper and signals and a RMM front lip
4. say screw it and save for a Tc when I get out of college in two years

I dont know what to do right now, Ive been having horrible luck with the car. I dont know if I should put money into it anymore or not, I love modifying my car but I just dont know if its worth it anymore. I need to save money for school and getting a place after college, I just love the car so much and it really is my only hobby aside from taking my girlfriend out

Actually it was probably a 2002 trailblazer as they had a recall on the board that holds the brakelight bulb! Very common problem. Sorry it had to be you!

That sucks...

I drive in the Detroit area every week. Go 80mph...then Zero mph. With that rain lately it has been a bitch. I drove my Buick to work down there all week. hehe...didn't want to hurt the new Camry. Mrs Dood drove it to her work....4 miles away.

Nothing irritates me more then the guy/gal in front of you without all their lights working....OR...they do not shovel the snow off their car and it covers up the rear lights. Also in Michigan now you have to have $1000.00 worth of damage to get a Police Report. My question to that is...when did COPS become Body Mechanics? How are they qualified?

fix it and buy a beater. like a metro or something good on gas.

that is if you have a place to park it. im guessing you do since the pics look like they were taken in a garage.

yeah the thought of a rmm lip is sounding pretty good

i want to do a white 95 96 bumper with amber signals and a black lip kind of like shook's car...

I do see a lot of trail blazers like that with tail lights out, that makes sense... stupid GM pieces of crap.

Yeah I keep the car here over the summer when I live at home but at school i dont have a garage. This year however I got a sweet apartment with a garage.

OK so heres a question... i found bumper covers on ebay that say they are oem replacements for about $80 shipped- are those legit? any fitment issues?

yeah that sucks! ive also had bad luck.. the plastic piece in my trunk has a huge crack!!!

def fix it, even if you are gonna part with it.

but why TC???? i mean, its nice overall, but it is weak, unless you are getting the one with the SC in it?? did that come out yet?

the damage doesnt look that bad, and it looks like replaceing the bumper will fix it up right good, so why not throw the RMM lip on it while your at it

hey damon. sucks about the car. the damage ain't too bad though, honestly.

i'd recomend staying away from those oem style replacements, they're shit. my body shop cheaped out on me and ordered one when they were fixing my car and the things was horrible. huge gaps, predrilled holes were out of place, etc. best bet is go to a junkyard and find one in decent shape. just remember that you'll have to mod your wiring since the gen 3.5 bumper is only the turn siglas while yours has parking lights too. oh, and the 95-96 bumper has a lip below the grill, yours doesn't.
