Keyless entry not working at beach

I just bought a new 2006 LE and the remote keyless entry is not working when at the beach. Not having the problem anywhere else. The dealership said there might be interference. Any solutions?

Yea, there could be some interferce with some other radios in the area. Who knows where it's coming from though. Does it work at all at the beach, ie if you're standing right next to the car vice 50 feet away?

It worked for 2 days, and today not at all, no matter how close or far the remote was to the car.

That's pretty weird. I would expect the beach to have less range, because there is nothing to bounce the signal around, but not working at all is pretty odd. In fact maybe the sand absorbs it or something. Are you actually parking on the sand?

First tried parking under the condo, then tried parking near the dunes. Remote didn't work in either place. Of course as soon as I leave the beach, the remote starts working again.

I would ask other people in the area if they have trouble with any similar devices. I would assume that it's the location that's the problem.
