As some of you have been fallowing, I have been "talking" of projectors for about a year now. Unfortunately, I was introduced to the wrong guy, and things went south. For about 6 months I have been looking for someone to help us out and get some projectors. Well, one of our own has stepped forward and saved my name. Scepter300RR.
I am not sure of an ETA yet, but I can give you an idea of what to expect. We are using DOT compliant Hella Projector lamps with the new H9 bulb. Lamp here These are the same lamps used on rally cars. I am glad to see this is finally coming together. Thanks for everyone's support over the last year, and hope this is the first of many new products that CT Motorsport can bring to the Camry enthusiast.

Cant wait until they are a finished product, good work and keep us updated .Once we get these projectors maybe we should do an HID groupbuy..What do you think?

It will be an option, but its not cheap. There are alot of reason for that, but we wont worry about that till the time comes. Lets work on getting the lights frist.
Are the projector lamps from an Integra type-r DOT approved, cause those fit a 9006 bulb. But i ain't arguing with your designe at all because i really want a set of projectors badly for my car. Can you give us a little more info, like are they going to be dual projectors or have angel eyes and what kind of a finish is going to be inside, I.E (silver mirror, black, or carbon fiber)???

there is a H9 projector but it isnt a kit you can get off ebay, it is a retorfit kit that will also give you a new lens. This will stay DOT. If you change the blub from halogen to HID in a housing that was not made for HID you create more issues. You can read about this in general under the HID post.
As for specifics, not much is know yet because we are playing with a few ideas and trying to get a felling for what you want. The Projectors will not come with angel eyes because i couldnt find a projector with them. The hosing itself is still being mocked up but I will keep you updated as more decisions are made.
Hey Sean, I'm not sure how far Ben (if I remember his name correctly) and you have gone in this project, but perhaps a better alternative for projectors are the E-Code ones, as they provide better lighting. It'd be a waste to see such a great project be held back by poor functionality. However, I do understand the fact that you'd want DOT ones so that there wouldn't be any trouble with authority. If that or timing's not an issue, then E-code! Keep up the excellent work!

Hella makes H9 projector units in both DOT/SAE and E-code.
E-code determines the beam pattern that the projector puts out. DOT/SAE specs create a beam pattern that resembles a blob (a.k.a hotspots) and lots of light bleeding above the cutoff. Take a drive out tonight, and aim your car against the wall. You'll see what I mean. The point of the bleed above the cutoff was originally to light up overhead signs.
E-Code, on the other hand, provides a superior cutoff, as well as a right hand flare. The pattern works well with high output lighting (i.e. HID ) since there's not much of a bleeding cutoff to create glare that most aftermarket HID retrofits generate.
So if it's still possible to substitute the DOT ones for E-code, I highly suggest it. Feel free to drop me a line if you need any more help regarding this project, as I'll try my best to help out the Camry community.
