hi,
Iam new to this forum & this is my first post .

I am thinking of Buying Rims for my 98 Toyota Camry.

1)I need advice from you guys what tires would be best for these rims?

2)Do I have to make some adjustments for the fitment of these rims?

First off, welcome and enjoy your stay

As for the rims, everything looks fine. But I'm not a wheel experct by any means. Maybe the other guys can give you a little more insight.

Help a Neb out guys  I know there are wheel savy guys out there (SBC, Rookie, Speed, all my cats!)

Welcome! Those are nice! 17 x 7 with 40 offset will be just fine. I would recommend putting 215/45/17 tires on.

Do you have a tire in mind?? If not http://www.tirerack.com is a great place to learn. Be mindful of speed rating issues when picking out a tire. In all likelihood, you'll need a set of winter tires if you live in an area with snow.

Thanks Guys !

Well winter is no Concern as I live in GA,USA.

I went to a Sears tire shop today & they told me that 225/45 would be ok.

Any opinion ?

The 225 width tires will fit, but won't look good. The sidewalls will bubble out because the wheel widths are narrow.

What I mean is that the sidewalls of a 225-wide tire may look pinched in by the 7" rims. That's a cosmetic thing. However, there are performance differences as well.

225-wide tires will be better in corners while 215-wide tires will be better on launches.

I drive a 97' Camry V6 with 17X7 TRD/Revo wheels with 225X45X17 tires. I believe the 225X45X17 tire is the right fit for a 17X7 rim.

Hey guys,

If i go with 17x7.7 or 17x8, can i then put 225 tires and they'd look nice ? or should i still go with 215 with 7.5 or 8 width?

The best way to go IMHO is 17/225/45 with a 17 7.5 so that you could even go to 235 is you realy want to.

If you have the TRD catalog or log on to TRDUSA and look for a Solara with TRD/Revo wheels with 225X45X17. They look perfect.
