i haven't removed mine, but i can tell you that i was looking underneath the pin striping on my car and noticed that when they put it on they used a razor, there is a thin cut through the paint along the length of the damn thing,

I heard many different ways of taking it off. I did it on a very hot day and just used my nail. One side came off easy, the other side I had to use a razor

I want to take it off, but I'm afraid that after 12 years it's going to leave some mark there.

Body shops use a tool called an eraser. It's a rubber attachment for a rotary tool, and it takes them off just fine. Just go to a body shop, or maybe even a detail place and they should be able to do it no problem.

I used my sisters hair dryer. I heated it as I went and pulled it right off. BUT BE WARNED: on my car, that was the only place left that the clear was in good condition, so it left a line around the car that was nice and shiney, compared to the dull rest of the car.
