Congrats on your black SE. I'm dying to get one, trying to locate an out-of-state 5-speed. Can you post some pictures of your new ride??

XenonDepot if you must get a kit. You can spend less and buy some random kit from some forum vendors or other unknown brands, but you get what you pay for. XenonDepot at least tries to use OEM parts mostly. You're lucky that your '07's halogen projectors take pretty well to HID kits, with the exception of some squirrel finders that show up above the cutoff.

I recall another 07 Camry owner saying HIDs are not a good idea for the Camry because of the auto lights. If you dont use them they aren't a problem. But I heard the constant on/off of the auto headlights cause HID lights to burn out very quickly.

You can modify the existing projectors to accept the D2S Burners with about $10.00 of hardware. I just purchased the Denso Ballast and some Orasm D2S burners off of HIDplanet.com. If you search for MDX projectors you will see a how to make them work and still have the factory front housing with great output better than a Honda S2000.

The auto lights feature has no affect to HID. Most cars with HID factory are auto on light feature.

LunarMist is telling the truth. When the ballast is asked to ignite the bulb and go off right after as a regular pattern, it will shorten the life of the ballast.

On another note, I ain't messing around with those hid conversion kits. I am retrofitting my Gen5 right now with TSX projectors, OEM Philips D2S bulbs, OEM Lexus Denso ballasts.

As LunarMist mentioned, the MDX projectors are halogen but they are known to yield decent output for hid. You might be able to get decent output putting hid into those Camry projectors as well but I'm curious as to whether anyone has actually witnessed this or started a thread about it that I missed out on. Most halogen projectors are not good for hid. DarkMastyr knows a lot about hid so he might be on to something but...........

What might turn out to be your best option is to find some hid projectors that are the same size as those halogen projectors in the Gen 6 Camry. Then swap them out. If you find a hid projector the same size as the halogen projector, the worst thing that you will have to do is open your headlights and possibly drill mounting holes for the new projectors.

you can try search on ebay, they have oem xenon kits or hid kits, if you don't want to swap the projectors, i would go with hid kit.

Gen5 Real HID's

congrats on getting a Gen 6. each new gen is looking better as time goes on. is it possible that a future Gen 6.5 or 7 will have OEM HID lighting? I mean, come on, we're almost there with OEM projectors on the gen 6. that would make an already good car that much better.

I seriously doubt it unless a new form of lighting becomes the new standard for luxury. With Toyota making the Camry's exterior look more Lexus-like, I doubt they will go the whole 9 by allowing hid lights to be an option. The Avalon only gets away with it because it is a "Lexus with a Toyota badge". lol. But I could be wrong. I guess we will see in about 4 to 8 more years.

Gen5

They wouldn't add hid lights on the 6.5 though. It would have to be Gen 7 or higher. They would have a bunch of pissed off Gen 6 owners. lol. I know I would be pissed off it Gen 5.5 owners had hid lights and I couldn't get them in my Gen 5.

Their is a guy (can't remember the screen name) who put some MTEC HID on his new SE. He bought them on Ebay and the pattern looked good. Personally, I couldn't tell from the pics how much it improved the visibility.
