JBL Premium Sound - need 2 ohms speakers?

I have a 2002 XLE with the JBL Premium sound. I'm planning on replacing the front door speakers which are anything but premium. I've worked out the clearance to be 3" top mounted 6x9s - there are several quaility ones that fit that spec. But the current speakers are 2 ohms - most aftermarkets out there are 4 ohms. Must I replace with speakers with others that are also 2 ohms? I was looking at some Alpines that were 4 ohms, and the sales guys told me that they would eventually blow, and that I needed to put in 2 ohms speakers, which they didn't sell.

New infinity Kappas are 2ohms, the less ohms you used more power out of amp and the amp is less stressed.
