3rd Generation Tire size

Hey TNers,

I'm planning on purchasing new wheels/tires next month from TireRack. Wheel size will be 18x7.5 recomended tire size 215/45/18. Was wondering if the 225/40/18 will fit with no problems aka rubbing against struts/springs. I will be lowering the car with Eibach/Tokico combo. Thanks for your input.

i have 225/45ZR17's on my car, if you went with 45 series tires on 18" rims would that throw off your speedometer? I have 45 series tires on my 17's, when i was looking for rims, had i gone with 18's i would have gone with 40 series tires (I have a gen 3.5 by the way).

So i would recommend using the 40 series, and 225/40/18 should fit no problem. Also, since you are looking to get rims you wanna make sure the rim offset is correct otherwise you will have problems with rubbing etc.
