Ummm no... not at all... unless your car is still under warranty and you care about them being responsible for any stereo circuitry. But if you are going aftermarket, you'd probably know enough to not need their help in case of a problem.

No real tricks. I found that it was pretty straightforward. I'm still learning myself.

When removing the stock stereo, the reason they mention consulting the dealer is because the stereo MAY be security coded. If you remove it and its got a security code on it, you'll need the re-activation code. I stress the word MAY. If you didn't program the security feature, just pop that sucker out.

Well the stock unit is usualy a 20watt Max per channel unit but you will be lucky to get 10watts.I have a 1997 and i changed my radio to a Eclipse HU and let me tell you that it is much louder and its just a 15Watt unit. For takiong out the radio its very easy too , if you need any help just ask.

If you're planning on just getting subs + amp and stick with the stock deck (like I did) tell your installer right away to hookup your power / remote wire to the ignition because the chances of your stock deck being able to power up a decent amp is pretty slim. The only problem u have after is your amp is always on as long as the car is on. For me its not a big problem, just don't turn off your deck unless you like feedback =) I got a JBL BP600.1 (2 channel, 600watt) and 2 12" MTX 6000 series. sh** bumps nicely.. but I know as soon as I throw in a aftermarket deck, it'll bump even more. But I'm planning on getting a new car, so no point.
