oil pan gasket question

would a high heat temp gasket maker work fine for reinstalling the oil pan??? the stuff i bought is an orange color

yeah thatll work fine if you know how to put it on correctly.

1.scrape off everything from the block to pan.
2.put a bead of high temp silicone
3.mate the pan to block and hand tighten the bolts, this will give a space of about 1/8" or 3/16" for it allow to semi-cure.
4. wait for ~1/2hr and then tighten it to specs.

or you can alternatively get a cork gasket for ur pan, but i like the silicone better.
